Northwest Basketball came onto the scene quickly this summer with strong representation at two different weeks of the famous Five Star Basketball Camp. With a total number of 9 All-Star Game appearances, one Camp Champion, one Camp Runner-Up, a Best Rebounder Award, and a Station 13 Award, Northwest showed they are ready to put in the time to be a top program.
At Robert Morris University July 15-19 in Pittsburgh Pat McCarthy, Jarquise Lucas, Devon Murphy, and Tyler Hartman showed there stuff. It was a great week of showcasing in front of many small college coaches and meeting players from all over the world. When it was all said and done McCarthy, Murphy, and Lucas all made the All Star Game and Hartman was a go to wing for the Runner-Up team of the entire camp. Murphy was also the winner of the Mr. Station 13 Award for his hard work in the extra drill sets.
At Florida State University August 2-6 in Tallahassee Northwest was back at it again after only 2 weeks off. This time in attendance were Pat McCarthy, Jarquise Lucas, Craig Cook, Andy Fox, Kwesi Sampah, Devon Murphy, Tyler Hartman, Kyle Vebber, and Julian Sampah. After another great week of hard work it all paid off. Six Vikings made the All Star Game and combined for 56 points in the game. The All-Stars were McCarthy, Murphy, Lucas, Vebber, K. Sampah, and Hartman. In addition to their All Star Selections Lucas walked away with a camp championship and K. Sampah walked away with the best rebounder award.
All in all a great summer for Northwest Basketball!
